Echo AI Assistant · Trades

You work with both hands. Leave the phone to Echo.

Echo is an AI phone assistant for plumbers, electricians and HVAC techs: it answers the call while you're up a ladder or holding a wrench, records the problem, the address and the caller's number, sets up an appointment, and alerts you right away if it's urgent. With Echo, a ringing phone is no longer a lost job.

Sound familiar?

It rings while you're working

Elbow-deep in a job, you're not going to fumble with a phone. But someone calling about a burst pipe doesn't leave a voicemail: they call the next name on the search results.

By evening, they're gone

At the end of the day you'd call back the missed numbers, but whoever you didn't reach at noon has found another way by evening. Half of those callbacks go out for nothing.

Addresses kept in your head

A call taken in the van between two jobs leaves you with a half-remembered street name. Echo records every detail accurately and summarizes it for you.

Example: a service request through Echo
Caller
Hi! The water heater in the bathroom is leaking, could you come out as soon as possible?
Echo
Hi, thanks for calling! I'm the AI assistant, and this call is being transcribed. I can help with that right away. Our technician can come tomorrow between 8:00 and 10:00 AM or after 4:00 PM. Which works for you?
Caller
The morning would be good.
Echo
Great, tomorrow between 8:00 and 10:00 AM. What name and address should I put down?
Caller
Mark Evans, 12 Maple Street.
Echo
Thank you, Mark! It's booked, and we'll confirm the details by text. In the meantime, it's worth shutting off the water heater's supply valve if you can reach it.

What does it handle for you?

  • Answers the call while you're working, driving or already home
  • Records the problem, the address, the name and the callback number
  • Sets up appointments based on the open slots in your calendar
  • Alerts you right away to urgent cases, like a burst pipe
  • Shares your service area and rates from your knowledge base
  • Sends a summary of every call, so in the evening you see your whole day in one list

You'll find the whole process, step by step, on the How it works page.

What it costs a tradesperson

For a solo operator or a small crew, we recommend the Voice Starter plan: it handles 300 minutes of calls a month, approx. 120 calls. A service request is usually a short call, so this allowance lasts a long time. The first 7 days are a live trial, free.

Frequently asked questions

How does Echo know when I'm free to go out on a job?

It connects to your calendar and only offers slots you've marked as open. If you don't work from a calendar, it can be set up to just record the request, and you call the customer back with a time.

What if someone has a burst pipe and needs me right now?

Echo recognizes an urgent case and acts according to your settings: it transfers the call to you immediately, or records the details and sends you an instant notification so you can decide.

Can it tell callers my rates and my service area?

Yes, if you provide them during onboarding. From its knowledge base it answers questions about your service call fee, your hourly rate and where you travel to. Anything you haven't provided, it stays silent on. It never makes up a price.

I don't have an office or an assistant. Isn't this overkill for me?

Just the opposite: Echo pays off most for the person who takes every single call themselves. For $289 a month (taxes not included) you get a receptionist who never calls in sick and is never busy on another job.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. You keep your existing number, and call forwarding takes care of the rest. You can also set it so Echo only steps in when you don't pick up, say, because you're up a ladder.

How long does setup take, and what if it doesn't work out?

Setup takes approx. 1 week, and the first 7 days are a free live trial on your own number. If it doesn't bring in enough work to pay for itself, you simply don't continue. No strings attached.
