A call, step by step

This is how a call goes, from start to finish.

  1. Incoming call

Your customer calls your usual number; nothing changes for them.

  2. A greeting with a clear signal

Echo introduces itself and, in its very first sentence, tells the caller they're speaking with an AI assistant and that the call is being transcribed.

  3. It understands what the caller wants

It asks back in natural conversation: an appointment, a price, opening hours, or leaving a message.

  4. It books or takes details

It books an appointment in your calendar, or records the name, phone number, and request. It connects to any calendar.

  5. A summary for you

After the call you get the transcript and a summary by email, and everything lands in the built-in CRM.

Example: what a call sounds like

Pick an industry and see how Echo talks:

Caller
Good evening! I'd like to book a table for tonight, for four people.
Echo
Good evening, thanks for calling! I'm an AI assistant, and this call is being transcribed. For four tonight I can offer 7:00 PM or 8:30 PM. Which works for you?
Caller
7 o'clock is good.
Echo
Great, 7:00 PM for four. What name should I put it under?
Caller
Sarah Mitchell.
Echo
Thank you, Sarah! Your reservation is in, and I'll send a text confirmation.

Who is it for?

Not a strict list of industries, but a way of working: Echo works well wherever there are appointments to book, or customers call to ask questions.

If your business isn't among the examples but the phone is an important channel for you, the 15-minute call will tell whether Echo is a fit.

You choose Echo's voice.

Pick from more than 50 voices at the start of onboarding: you listen to the same sentence in each, and decide which fits your brand.

You'll soon be able to listen to voice samples here too; until then, we play them for you on the 15-minute call.

Fine-tuning

Fine-tuning is based on real calls, at no extra charge. It's not an extra: it's part of the job.

  1. Consultation

A 15-minute call: what calls come in, and what you'd like to take off your plate.

  2. Intake and voice selection

You hand over the knowledge base and pick Echo's voice.

  3. Setup and testing

We set up call forwarding or your new number, and test it together.

  4. Go-live

The free 7-day live trial starts, with real calls. If you don't want it, we switch it off for $0.

No risk

It proves itself first. Then you pay.

  1. Hand over the intake

Price list, opening hours, 15 to 20 common questions, calendar access. Nothing starts without it.

  2. Build and go-live

We build and tune it, done for you.

  3. 7 days live, free

Real calls, real customers. Not a demo: you see what it can do on your own traffic.

  4. Decision

If you don't want it: you pay $0, and we switch it off. If you do: you choose the annual or the monthly option.

The trial is available before either contract option.

That's it. We take care of the rest.

You don't have to change your number.

Echo gets its own number, and you forward calls to it from your existing number. One short code on your phone, approx. 30 seconds. Your customers keep calling the same number as before.

And you don't have to hand over everything:

When should Echo take over your calls?
How it's set up
Only the calls I don't answer
  1. We give you your Echo number.
  2. You dial one short forwarding code on your phone, approx. 30 seconds. The exact code depends on your country and carrier; we look it up and set it up together during onboarding.
  3. Done: from then on, the calls you chose go to Echo. We confirm it with a test call.
Switch it off anytime, the same way.

Most of our customers pick the second option: they answer the phone as before, and Echo picks up what they can't. That's how every call gets answered, without changing anything.

The forwarding code differs by country and carrier; we set it up together during onboarding and check it with a test call.

Prefer a separate line?

We can also provide a new local phone number. For most businesses, forwarding is the simpler route because nothing has to change, but if you'd rather start with a clean slate, that works too.

And if it doesn't know something?

It never makes up an answer.

If a question comes in that it has no answer to, it hands the call to the right person, or takes the caller's contact details and alerts you right away. You decide what it can and cannot hand over.

Data protection and transparency

  • Consent-based data processing: it captures only the data needed to get back to the caller
  • The caller is told at the start of the call that they're speaking with an AI system
  • The caller is told at the start of the call that it is being transcribed
  • How long transcripts are kept is your decision, set in your privacy notice

Honestly: when is it not worth it?

If you get only 1 or 2 calls a week and can almost always pick up, Echo isn't worth it for you yet. And that's fine: when your call volume grows, we'll be here.

Hear it live. Then decide.
