Phone number

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. Echo gets its own number, and you forward calls to it from your existing number: one code on your phone, 30 seconds. Your customers keep calling the same number as before.

How does call forwarding work?

It's a built-in feature of your phone carrier: one short code dialed on your phone sends calls on to your Echo number, approx. 30 seconds of work. You choose what gets forwarded: every call, only the calls you don't answer, only when you're busy, or only when you're unreachable. The exact code depends on your country and carrier; we set it up together during onboarding and check it with a test call. You can switch it off anytime, the same way.

Can I forward only the calls I don't answer?

Yes, that's exactly what most of our customers pick: you answer the phone as before, and Echo picks up what you can't. The caller doesn't notice a thing.

Can I get a new local phone number?

Yes, if you want a separate line, we can provide a new local number. For most people forwarding is the simpler route, because nothing has to change.

Does it work with a landline?

It's possible, but it depends on the carrier, so we don't promise it as automatic: we check and set it up together during onboarding.

Pricing and contract

How much does it cost?

The voice agent comes in three plans: Starter $289/mo (300 minutes), Pro $549/mo (900 minutes), Managed $899/mo (1,700 minutes). The chatbot is $149 / $299 / $499 per month (500 / 1,500 / unlimited conversations), and the two are cheaper together as a combo. All prices in USD, taxes not included. Details on the Pricing page.

What if I go over my minute allowance?

The call doesn't drop. Minutes over the allowance are billed at $0.45/min (taxes not included), you get an email alert at 75, 90, and 100% of your allowance, and an adjustable overage cap protects you from surprises.

Is there a setup fee?

Not with a 12-month contract: $0. On the monthly, cancel-anytime option it's a one-time fee: voice agent and combo $499, chatbot $249.

Can I pay the setup fee in installments?

Yes, on the monthly option the setup fee can be paid in full or in 3 installments, with no installment surcharge.

What happens if I leave within 12 months?

With a 12-month contract, $41.58 of the $499 setup fee is earned off each month; when you leave, only the remaining part is due: $374 after 3 months, $250 after 6 months, $125 after 9 months, $0 after 12 months. If it doesn't work because of us, we charge nothing.

Can I choose a monthly contract?

Yes. The monthly option has no commitment and can be canceled monthly; in that case setup is a one-time fee.

How many chatbot conversations are included?

Starter includes 500 conversations a month, Pro 1,500, and Business is unlimited for inbound conversations. Over the allowance nothing is cut off, the extra is $0.45 / conversation. The plans also differ in channels, knowledge base, CRM, branding, and support: the table on the Pricing page lays it out.

Are taxes included?

No. All prices are shown in USD with taxes not included; any applicable taxes are added on the invoice.

Onboarding

How long until it goes live?

Build-out takes 1 week, go-live 5 to 7 business days. Then you start with a free 7-day live trial.

What do you need from me?

Four things: a price list, opening hours, 15 to 20 common questions with the answers, and calendar access. That's it, we take care of the rest.

Is there a free trial?

Yes: a free 7-day live trial, on real calls, for $0. It's available before either contract option.

What if I don't want it after the trial?

Then you pay $0, and we switch it off. If you do want it, you choose the 12-month or the monthly option.

Is there fine-tuning after go-live?

Yes, in the first 4 to 6 weeks we fine-tune based on real calls, at no extra charge.

How it works

What does it sound like?

You pick from more than 50 voices at the start of onboarding: you listen to the same sentence in each, and decide which fits your brand.

What if it doesn't know the answer?

It never makes up an answer. It hands the call to the right person, or takes the caller's contact details and alerts you right away.

Do I get a summary of the calls?

Yes, you get an email summary of every call, and everything lands in the built-in CRM.

Is there a recording and a transcript?

Every call gets a written transcript and an email summary. Echo does not keep an audio recording of the call.

Can it book appointments?

Yes: it books an appointment in your calendar, or records the appointment request. It connects to any calendar.

How is this different from a phone menu?

It holds a natural conversation, not a press-1 menu: it understands context, asks back, and confirms details the way an assistant would.

Data protection

How is my callers' data handled?

On a consent basis: Echo captures only the data needed to get back to the caller, and how long transcripts are kept is your decision, set in your privacy notice.

What data does it record?

Only the data needed to get back to the caller, after the caller's consent.

Does the caller know they're talking to an AI?

Yes, the caller gets a clear signal at the start of the call that they're speaking with an AI system. We keep this on everywhere; whether it's required for your business is a question for your legal advisor.

Is the caller told the call is transcribed?

Yes, the caller is informed at the start of the call that the conversation is being transcribed.

Honestly: when is it not worth it?

If you get only 1 or 2 calls a week and can almost always pick up, Echo isn't worth it for you yet. And that's fine: when your call volume grows, we'll be here.
